Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the rolling work possible to exactly keep the final finishing temperature within the allowable range, by forecasting the final finishing temperature over the whole length of the rolled material, and by adjusting the draft schedule and the cooling condition depending on above forecasts.
CONSTITUTION: In the final rolling mill 11 of the roughing and the finishing rolling mill line, the rolling load P of the horizontal pass is continuously detected by the detector 12 over the whole length of the rolled material M; thus detected rolling load P is inputted to the controlling computer 13 through the process input/output unit 14. Various data concerning with the aimed final finishing temperature, the material property of the rolled material M, the rolling mills and the descalers, are previously inputted to this computer 13 through the data processing input/output unit 15; this computer 13 operates the mean temperature Q at every section over the whole length of the rolled material M. Next, the computer 13 operates the forecast for the final finishing temperature T2 from the draft schedule, etc., for the finish rolling pass being appropriately assumed; and the computer 13 corrects the initially assumed draft schedule, etc., so as to make above operated result to be settled within the allowable range.
