Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the blackening and glittering of transparent conductive films without decreasing the brightness of a panel by forming insulation layers having specific refractive indexes between substrates and transparent conductive films or above said films, to thickness in the specific range.
CONSTITUTION: Colorless transparent layers 3 of 1.65W2.20 refractive indexes and 400W1,500Å thicknesses are formed on transparent conductive substrates 1, 2 of glass or the like of usually about 1.5 refractive index by suitable mixing of insulators of different refractive indexes such as SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2, GeO2, PbO, by a method such as sputtering, vapor deposition or dipping. Next, transparent conductive films 4, 5 of SnO2 (refractive index around 2.2), In2O3 (refractive index around 1.9) are provided. By providing the insulation films 3 in this way, drawbacks such as the patterns of the films 4 appear blackish when the panel is viewed from the front because light reflects and loses on account of large refractive index differences of the substrates 1, 2 and the conductive films 4, 5, or the patterns glitter when the substrates are viewed obliquely may be eliminated.
