Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the operating efficiency of a rotary electric machine by allowing an excessive maximum allowable current when it is within a predetermined time even if the field current exceeds the maximum allowable value. CONSTITUTION:When a deviation 7a between a field current signal 6a and a maximum allowable current 8a exceeds an allowable deviation value V0, a relay 12 is energized so that a contact 12a is opened. Thus, an integrator 11 will integrate a deviation signal 7a at a time constant responsive to the value of the deviation signal 7a. When the output signal 11a of the integrator 11 exceeds the voltage of a reference signal 16a from a setting unit 16, the relay 17 is energized so that its contact 17a is closed, and the deviation signal 7a is applied through an amplifier 9 to an automatic voltage controller 3. In this manner, the operating efficiency of the generator 1 can be enhanced.
