PURPOSE:To provide a light transmission glass having so excellent water resistance that a water contact will cause an extremely low decrease in strength and including SiO2, B2O3, Na2O, Al2O3, and ZnO as it essential components. CONSTITUTION:A multiple component glass used as a weather-resistant optical transmission glass consists of in weight percent, SiO2: 38-57, B2O3: 4-22, Na2O: 8-24, K2O: 0-15, Li2O: 0-15, Cs2O: 0-15, Al2O3: 15-22, ZnO: 1-16, Ti2O: 0-7, ZrO2: 0-7, CaO: 0-7, BaO: 0-7, MgO: 0-7, where Na2O+K2O+Li2O+ CaO: 13-24 and Al2O3+ZnO+TiO2+ZrO2+CaO+BaO+MgO: 16-32.
