Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a battery which has a high output after a long period of preservation and can supply a stable high output for a long period of time, by adding a given proportion of either a carbonic acid anhydride or a carbonic acid to a positive active material made of a halide. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 1 made of a thin metal layer such as silver, copper, tin, lead or aluminum is formed on a negative collector 5. While a positive electrode 2 containing a halide is formed on a positive collector 6, and the whole constitures a solid battery. The halide contained in the positive electrode is preferred to be either an N-halocarbonamide or an N-halocarbonimide such as N-iodosuccinimide or N-bromo-acetamide; an inorganic halide such as copper bromide or lead chloride may also be used. Besides, 0.001-5.0mol of either a carbonic acid or a carbonic acid anhydride such as acetic acid or acetic acid anhydride is added to one mol of the positive active material. Here, succinic acid is especially preferred. A separator 3 and a layer 4 made of either a halide or an oxide of the metal used for the negative eletrode should not be necessarily provided, but they are preferred to be provided.
