Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus, capable of controlling fluid flow with high accuracy although its structure is rather simple, by disposing a cylinder contg. magnetic-fluid in side-by-side relationship with an air cylinder, and connecting the opposite ends of said magnetic-fluid cylinder to each other via a conduit having a solenoid.
CONSTITUTION: The air cylinder 1 and the magnetic-fluid cylinder 3 are disposed in side-by-side relationship with each other, and piston rods 2, 4 for these cylinders 1, 3 are connected to each other. Further, pressure chambers 5, 6 of the magnetic- fluid cylinder 3 are communicated to each other via a conduit 7 having the solenoid 8. Since, with such an arrangement, viscous load of magnet fluid 9 can be changed by varying the amount of current sent to the solenoid 8, fluid flow can be controlled with high accuracy although the structure of the apparatus is rather simple.
