Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the layer height in a specified height constantly by a method wherein a pressure sensor is installed at the furnace bottom of a fluidized bed furnace to detect the pressureloss in the fluidized bed and a more fluid medium is supplied.
CONSTITUTION: At the furnace bottom of a swirling type fluidized bed furnace 31, fluid medium such as sand et al. is fluidized with air supplied through a perforated plate 35 to form the fluidized bed 36. Pressure sensors 46a, 46b are installed in the fluidized bed 36 and a wind box 38 to detect the layer height of fluidized bed from pressure loss and others. When pressure drops, new refuge is supplied from a hopper 42 by means of a screw conveyer 40, and when the height of fluidized bed becomes high, the conveyer is turned reversly to extract refuge, thus, the height of the layer is maintained always constantly to keep an excellent burning efficiency.
