Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate warming-up by interconnecting the upper and lower stream of the throttle valve of an intake passage through a bypass passage which passages on an exhaust manifold and allowing air to flow in the bypass passage at a temperature below a fixed value and heating the air.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 3 is installed in the intake passage 2 of a diesel engine 1, and the upper and lower stream of the throttle valve 3 is interconnected through a bypass passage 5. A part of the bypass passage 5 passes in an exhaust manifold 4 and heats the air which flows inside. On the passage 5, a flow rate controlling valve 6 is installed which opens when the engine is at a fixed temperature or below, and below the fixed temperature, the engine heats a part of the air and returns the air into the intake passage 2.
