Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain chip shaped inductors whose layered thickness is small and which are convenient to be inserted into an automatic installing machine, by providing cut away portion at the corners located on both ends of a magnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:An electrode pattern 2A is provided on at least one surface of a magnetic substrate 1 formed in a flat-plane shape, and cut away portions 9-12 are provided at the corners located on both ends of the substrate 1. By providing said cut away portions 9-12, both ends of the sides having the width W1, where the thickness of the applied conductive paste tends to increase, are cut away. Therefore, the edges of the ends of electrodes 5 and 6 lie in the inside of the extended lines L1 and L2 from two planes defined by the width W1. Even though errors are yielded in the thickness of the applied paste, the errors do not constitute obstacles in loading the inductors into the magazine of an automatic installing machine. Therefore, a specified amount of said inductors are securely loaded into the magazine of the automatic installing machine very smoothly, and the working efficiency of the automatic installation and assembling can be remarkably enhanced.
