Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent cracking from occuring and obtain a titled billet inexpensively by directly pouring the molten metal of titled alloy into an external enclosure cylinder for hot working at pouring temperature of a liquidus +20W60°C range and allowing the same to freeze.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metal of Sendust-base alloy is directly poured into an external enclosure cylinder at a temperature range of liquidus +20W60°C and is allowed to freeze. In this way, the colomnar crystal structure is sufficiently fined and compacted, whereby the cracking occuring in the columnar crystal structure is perfectly prevented and the titled billet is obtained. Thus, the combersome and difficult machining before hot working in the prior art is eliminated and the Sendust-base alloy worked material is obtained efficiently and economically.
