Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently condense ions of radioactive nuclide, etc. in radioactive drainage so as to be discarded conveniently, and simultaneously recover re-utilizable deionized water by treating the drainage utilizing combined process of reverse osmotic method and electric dialysis.
CONSTITUTION: Radioactive drainage, which contains ion of radioactive nuclide, chromic acid ion and chlorine ion, is adusted to pH7W8 in a pH adjustment tank 1, and insoluble solid particles are removed therefrom by means of an ultrafilter 4. The resulting drainage is then permeated through reverse osmotic devices 6-1, 6-2 to be divided into a diluted liquid having a reduced ion concentration and a concentrated liquid having an increased ion concentration. The former liquid is recovered to be re-utilized. The latter liquid is subjected to condensation in an electric dialysis tank 10 to be divided into a condensed liquid and a diluted liquid. The condensed liquid is transferred to a cement-hardening step. The diluted liquid, the total ion concentration of which has been reduced to a predetermined level in the range of 300W1,000ppm, is returned to a reverse osmotic tank 5 to be subjected again to reverse osmotic treatment.
