Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a wire material having an excellent drawability and an excellent processability by a method in which nonconcentric ringlike hot-rolled metal wire is soaked to a specific temperature continuously in a constant-temperature furnace, quickly cooled in a low-temperature salt-bath, and then completely modified into sorbite in a high-temperature salt-bath. CONSTITUTION:The wire material 2 coming out of the final finish rolling machine 1 is water-cooled to Ar1 or more in the cooling induction tube 3, supplied onto the conveyer 6 in the form of nonconcentric ringlike loose coil 7 through the pinch roll 4 and the laying cone 5, passed through the constant-temperature furnace 8, and soaked to a temperature right above the point Ar1 throughout the whole length of all the sectional area of the wire material. Then, the wire material is dipped in and passed through the high-temperature salt-bath 11 of a temperature corresponding to the TTT curve nose portion to complete the modification of the unmodified austenite into sorbite structure in a short time. Then, it is dipped in the washing tank 11 to wash and remove adhered salt and then collected in the collecting tub 12.
