Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the stability of methylchloroform stabilized with at least >=2 sorts of stabilizers, by adding a benzylamine as an auxiliary stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:Methylchloroform stabilized with stabilizers comprising a combination of at least two compounds such as epoxides/nitro compounds, 1,4-dioxane/ epoxides/nitro compounds, epoxides/unsaturated alcohols/nitro compounds, is further stabilized by adding 0.0001-0.5pts.wt, based on 100pts. of methylchloroform, of a benzylamine (e.g. N,N-dimethyl-benzylamine) as an auxiliary stabilizer. The decomposition of methylchloroform is suppressed by the treatment. USE:Solvents for degreasing and washing of metals and other industrial solvents.
