Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable easy color printing with an impact-type printer by a method wherein a platen is sectionally divided in plural in radial direction, each of divided blacks is impregnated with different ink and a mechanism for selecting blocks is provided.
CONSTITUTION: In the impact-type printer provided with a printing-type wheel 3, a print hammer 4, a servomotor 5 for selection, printing paper 2 and the platen 1, the platen 1 is divided into (n) pieces (four pieces in the figure) and thus constituted by porous plastics 11W13 and partitioning parts 15, and each of porous plastics 11W13 is impregnated with the different ink. In the end part of the platen 1 is supported axially a pulse motor 6 for selecting desired colors. In addition, it is preferable to provide a color-sort detecting part 7 of the platen 1 in the other end of the platen 1.
