Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct the heat-sensitive printing on ordinary paper instead of on special paper and thereby to overcome the difficulties of procuring paper by a method wherein heat-sensitive ink is coated at predetermined printed positions on the printing paper and thereafter the heat-sensitive printing is conducted by use of exothermic elements.
CONSTITUTION: A printing head 3 provided with a plurality of electric-current type exothermic elements, together with an ink-coating mechanism 7 incorporating a container for the heat-sensitive ink 8 and a housing for an ink-coating roller 11, is detachably fitted on a cam shaft 2. Ordinary paper is fitted as the printing paper 17 and a pulse motor 1 is rotated to cause a supporting body 6 for the mechanism 7 to move rightwards. The white heat-sensitive ink 8 is coated at the predetermined printed positions on the paper 17 through the roller 11, and the coated surface is visualized by the exothermic elements on the head 3. After the completion of heat- sensitive printing, a platen 18 is retracted and the supporting body 6 returned. The ink-coating mechanism 7 is detached from the cam shaft 2 when heat-sensitive paper is employed as the printing paper.
