Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly detect the defect of a semiconductor element and to enhance the reliability thereof by inserting a conduction display element to DC braking semiconductor elements for receiving reverse bias from the secondary windings of transformers corresponding to the respective DC braking semiconductor elements. CONSTITUTION:When a thyristor 10 is destructed at the time of operating or stopping, an opened electromagnetic contactor 9 for DC braking of the induction motor, an electric current flows during half wave when a diode 17 is forwardly biased through the secondary winding 15-2 of a transformer 15 to allow a light emitting diode 18 to be fired so as to display a failure of the thyristor 10. When a diode 14 is destructed, a light emitting diode 22 is energized during a half wave when a diode 21 is forwardly biased through the secondary winding 15-3 of the transformer 15 to display the failure of the diode 14. Since a normally open contact 9-4 is opened at the time of braking the motor while the contactor 9 is closed, the failure of the thyristor 10 is not indicated, but the failure of the diode 14 is executed as above.
