Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the subject decorated board without necessity of manufacturing a paper mold by using an embossing plate in which the surfaces of parts shaping recessions and projections are all constituted only by curved surfaces and the configurations of the curved surfaces are opposite but ressemble to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic raw material having on its surface recessions and projections is subjected to a defatting treatment, and thereafter a vitreous frit layer is provided on the above raw material. Then, the material is heated and baked at a temperature in the range of from 500W1,000°C where the frit is molten. The molten frit becomes a viscous liquid, and its surface tension tends to make the surface area ninimum forming smooth recessions and projections having slight roundness, in addition to its fluidity. Thereby, an inorganic vitreous layer constituted by curved surfaces having recessed parts and projected parts resembling to each other is obtained. By use of the embossing plate manufactured as described above, a melamine decorated board the like are manufactured by the conventional method. The decorated broad thus obtained has a surface configuration which is inverse to the configuration of the ordinary decorated board but has no unnaturalness in appearance.
