Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A kerosene is supplied from a supply pipe 11 under a constant pressure and injected in a mist from an injector 4. On the other hand, air is supplied from a supply pipe 12 and spouted from air injectors 5 towards a combustion cylinder 3. At this time, a part (30W40%) of the air blows out from air jet holes 6, collides with the mist kerosene from the injector 4 and helps the atomization of kerosene. The rest (60W70%) of the air is spouted from swirlers 7 in a swirling flow and forms a thin film of air along the inner surface of the combuston cylinder. After that, fuel is ignited with an ignition bar 9 and then the quantities of kerosene and air are gradually increased to form a supersonic state and a normal combustion state is started.
