Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a hysteresis motor having high efficiency by a method wherein a ferromagnetic material is enlarged, and the area of a surface of the ferromagnetic material corresponding to a surface of a core facing to the rotor is magnified as compared to the area of the surface of the core. CONSTITUTION:The length l2 of a rotor assembly 1 in the axial direction is selected in value far larger than the length l1 of a stator core 10 in the axial direction. Since the synchronous torque of a hysteresis motor is proportioned to the area of a hysteresis loop and the volume of a hysteresis ring, the same synchronous torque can be obtained by said selection even when the area of the hysteresis loop is decreased only by an increasing portion of the volume of a hysteresis ring 2. The density of the magnetic flux of the hysteresis ring must be lowered in order to decrease the area of the hysteresis loop, and the consuming currents of a stator are also lessened with the reduction of the density, but the density of a magnetic flux can be diminished by elongating the length of a rotor assembly in the axial direction.
