Abstract

PURPOSE: To form Zn-Ti alloy plating films of superior corrosion resistance contg. the specific amount of Ti on iron and steel surfaces by contg. the specific amounts of zinc sulfate, ammonium sulfate, potassium titanium fluoride and sodium titanium fluoride in an electroplating solution.
CONSTITUTION: 80W400g zinc sulfate, 50W350g ammonium sulfate and 5W80g one or two kinds of potassium titanium fluoride and sodium titanium fluoride are contained in 1l of an electroplating soln. and the soln. is so prepared that the ratio of total sulfate ions to fluoride ions becomes 1:5W30. If electroplating is applied on iron and steel surfaces in this electroplating soln., the Zn-Ti alloy plating films of superior corrosion resistance contg. ≤15wt% Ti are formed.
