Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a spike voltage by connecting a subtransformer winding in parallel to the secondary winding of a main transformer. CONSTITUTION:A primary side series circuit is composed of DC power source E, a primary winding L1 of a main transformer T1, a collector and the emitter of a transistor TrQ1. The winding L12 of a subtransformer T12 is connected in parallel to a secondary winding L10 of the main transformer T1 and a connection point 8 is connected to a rectifying diode D10 and a smoothing circuit 3. With the transistor TrQ1 ON, current flows through the primary winding L1 to cause an induced voltage in the secondary winding L10 whereby energy is accumulated in the main transformer T1 and the subtransformer T12. With the transistor TrQ1 OFF, the energy is released to obtain an output from the terminal 4. However, because the accumulated energy is divided, the spike voltage generated in the main transformer can be reduced.
