Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce maintenance operations and ensure stable printing by preventing sticking of ink from the ink source and thermal ink ribbon by means of a device to separate ink from ink source from thermal ink ribbon when heating of ink source is stopped. CONSTITUTION:Roller 17 capable of up and down movement is installed on ink painted process side of endless thermal ink ribbon 16. When stopping heating of heat-soluable ink 20 at the stoppage of the device or thermal transcription recording, the movable roller 17 is moved upward to separate ribbon 16 completely from ink from source. Since ink immediately after heating stop has full fluidity, no excessive ink is left on ribbon 16 at the separation of ink of thermal ink ribbon 16 from ink from ink source and ink surface is made flat because of ink surface tension. The device is free from deterioration in recording quality during recording startup and has an advantage of stable recording quality.
