Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a deflection with a wide angle without producing a remarkable flow resistance by a method wherein an upper stream end of a rotatable vane is positioned at a down stream of a step of an upper side wall. CONSTITUTION:An upper stream end of a rotatable vane 11 is positioned at a down stream of a step 6 of an upper side wall 5. According to this arrangement, when the vane 11 is directed downwardly from a horizontal line by an angle theta1, an upper stream C2 of the vane 11 tries to adhere to an aft wall 7 after it is separated from the step 6, however, an effect of adhering to the vane 11 caused by the stream C2 and an inducing effect due to a stream B2 are bigger than a negative pressure effect causing a rolling stream E, therefore, the stream C2 will not be adhered to the wall 7 and is deflected downwardly. Accordingly, the deflection with a wide angle may be effected without causing a remarkable flow resistance.
