Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a duplicated hologram under small pressing pressure with good accuracy by hot-pressing the layer to be pressed of a thermal deformation temperature lower than that of a substrate formed on the substrate at a temperature between the thermal deformation temperature of the layer to be pressed and that of the substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate 7 is provided therein with a layer 8 to be pressed formed by material of a thermal deformation temperature lower than that of said substrate, whereby the material to be pressed is formed. Next, the end part of the layer 8 to be pressed of said material to be pressed is contacted with a die 4 which is fixed onto a heater plate 1 and has been set at a temperature higher than the thermal deformation temperature of the layer 8 to be pressed and lower than that of the substrate 7. While it is being pressed thereon by a heating roller 5, the heater plate 1 is moved in the arrow 3 direction along a guide 2 and the material to be pressed being guided by a guide roller 6 is hot-pressed, whereby a surface relief hologram is formed on the layer 8 to be pressed.
