Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure holding of an outer race of a bearing by a method wherein a ring body of synthetic resin having a thermal expansion coefficient bigger than those of an end frame and the bearing is mounted at an inner periphery of a bearing fitting portion formed on an end frame of a rotary electric machine.
CONSTITUTION: An annular groove 12a narrower than the width of a bearing 20 is formed at an inner periphery of a cylindrical portion 12 of a bearing fitting portion 11 formed on an end frame 10 of a driven side of a generator made of light metal such as aluminum or the like, and a ring body 40 is fitted within this groove 12a. The ring body 40 is formed by nylon, for example, and has a thermal expansion coefficient bigger than those of the end frame 10 and the bearing 20. An inner diameter A of an inner peripheral surface 41 of the ring body 40 is formed so as to be slightly smaller than an inner diamter B of the inner peripheral portion 13 of the cylindrical portion 12, and a direct contact between the bearing 20 and the bearing fitting portion 11 is prevented. According to this constitution, a clearance due to a thermal expansion difference between the fitting portion 11 and the bearing 20 in accompanied with self heat generation during operation may be corrected by the ring body 40 and an outer race of the bearing may be held surely.
