Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce intervention of error to time difference measurement, by dulling respective traveling-wave pulses, which come to the near-end of an accident phase line and the near-end of an indefectible phase line, into the same rise inclination by an integrating circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Far-ends A and B of accident phase line X and indefectible phase line Y are short-circuited and DC voltage E is applied gradually from near-end C of line X to cause discharge at accident point F. Two traveling-wave pulses are generated on a basis of this discharge, and pulse P1 returning through line X comes to near-end C, and pulse P2 passing through far-ends A and B and line Y comes to near-end D. These pulses are integrated by integrating circuits 112 and 12. Here, by selecting time constants of circuits 112 and 12 as large values, rise inclination of integrated waveforms of pulses P1 and P2 becomes equal approximately. Consequently, time delays of outputs of circuits 117 and 17 for pulses P1 and P2 become the same value by equalizing potentials of trigger levels of level discriminating circuits 117 and 17. Gate circuit 4 is gated by these pulses P1 and P2, so that an accurate measured value can be obtained from counting circuit 6.
