Abstract

PURPOSE: To make ultiple transferring possible through one time of exposure and charging by developing electrostatic latent images by the conductive magnetic toner in the specific resistivity range, and transferring the toner images by pressing or adhering to a transfer body, then transferring the same to a copying body.
CONSTITUTION: The electrostatic latent images of an electrostatic carrier 2a are developed by the magnetic toner (the toner contg. a conductive material such as carbon black in 20W80wt% magnetite or the like) 3b having 102W104Ω.cm specific volume resistance with a developing sleeve 3a onto a photoreceptor (for example a rotary drum) 2 which is made by forming a dielectric layer of a heat-resistant resin on a conductive backing material and is formed with an image forming layer by an electrostatic recording stylus or a photoconductive layer, after which said images are transferred by pressing onto a transfer roller 4. The toner images on the roller 4 are heated by an infrared ray heater 5, after which they are transferred and fixed onto the transfer paper 7 passing between the transfer roller and a press roller 6. A destaticizing part 8 and a cleaning device 9 are operated after the end of the transfer of a required sheet number so as to be ready for the latent image formation 1 of the next copying. In this way, the electrostatic charge carrier 2a has a small change in surface potential and provides superior transferred images despite transferring of a large number of sheets.
