Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a good VSWR characteristics over a wide range, by securing a raised cosine taper for the form of an inner diameter curve which is formed by connecting the fins arrayed on the inner side wall of a corrugated converter in terms of its longitudinal sectional view. CONSTITUTION:A corrugated converter 4 containing fins 6 having the conductivity on the inner wall surface plus grooves 8 arrayed with a prescribed space, and a corrugated horn is formed by connecting the converter 4 and a corrugated horn's even part 5 at a flange 2 and with a bolt 3. In such constitution, the electric wave of TE11 mode propagated through a circular waveguide 1 is converted into an electric wave of EH11 mode through the converter 4. Then the form of an inner diameter curve formed by connecting the tips of the fins 6 of the converter 4 is turned into a raised cosine taper. As a result, the inner diameter can be sharply increased for the fins at and after the 4th stage. Thus a smooth variation is ensured even in a low frequency for the admittance of the groove 8 formed by the fin 6 to which a circular ring 7 is loaded as well as the groove 8 formed by the fins 6 at and after the 4th stages.
