Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled coating agent, having the corrosion resistance at a high temperature, particularly the resistance to corrosion by halogen at an elevated temperature, and comprising a specific modified silicate, an acrylic emulsion and a heat- resistant pigment.
CONSTITUTION: A coating agent comprising (A) 100pts.vol. a modified silicate consisting of (i) 23W24wt% SiO2, (ii) 4.5W6.0wt% Na2O, (iii) 0.20W0.22wt% Li2O and (iv) the rest water, (B) 3.5W4.5pts.vol. an acrylic emulsion and (C) 8W15pts.vol. a heat-resistant pigment, e.g. Fe2O3.
EFFECT: The elimination of plating and heat treatment results in improved processability and reduced cost of anticorrosion treatment. The accurate control of corrosion- resistant film thickness permits the formation of a uniform coat even on a member of complicated shape.
