Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the device small-sized and light in weight by providing a free piston inside a cylinder employed in structure of a power-driven artificial leg and the like, constituting a gas chamber between a piston rod and the free piston and thereby unnecessitating an accumulating chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Inside the cylinder 1 a piston 4 having the piston rod 5 projecting outside through a rod guide 2 and the free piston 6 are provided slidably in the directions of arrows A and B. Furthermore, an oil chamber 7 is formed between the rod guide 2 and the piston 4, the gas chamber 8 wherein high-pressure gas is enclosed is formed between the piston 4 and the free piston 6, and another oil chamber 9 is formed between the free piston 6 and a bottom plate 3. When pressure oil flows into the oil chamber 9 by operation of a switching valve 18, the free piston 6 moves in the direction of the arrow A and contracts the gas chamber 8.
