Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the antibody of somatostatin or bradykinin in good reproducibility, by administering to a mammalian body an antigen consisting of a hapten- carrier compound obtained by using a specified substance as the carrier.
CONSTITUTION: The antibody of somatostatin or bradykinin is obtained by administering to a mammalian body, e.g. a rabbit or guinea pig, the antigen of the somatostatin or bradykinin consisting of a hapten-carrier compound obtained by the use of an Ascaris extract as the carrier, and then collecting the antibody produced. Said Ascaris extract is a substance obtained by extracting the finely cut body of Ascaris suum according to the conventional protein extraction method, and is combined with a hapten, e.g. natural or chemically modified somatostatin or bradykinin, according to a well-known method to form the antigen. The highly sensitive and well reproducible production of the antibody can be achieved and therefore applied to the precise diagnosis of diseases.
