Abstract

PURPOSE: A coat composition with excellent light resistance, extensibility and malleability, comprising a specified OH-terminated urethane prepolymer and an amino- formalin resin.
CONSTITUTION: An org. diisocyanate (a), an acrylic polyol (b) [e.g., 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate] of hydroxyl value 15W450 and MW 500W5,000 having 1.5W 4.0 functional groups, or a high-molecular weight polyol (c) (e.g., polytetramethylene glycol) of hydroxyl value 10W450 and MW 500W10,000 having 2W3 functional groups and contg. 50% or more component b, and, if necessary, a low-molecular weight polyol (d) (e.g., ethylene glycol), are reacted in the presence of a tin-base catalyst at 20W160°C, to obtain a OH-terminated urethane prepolymer (A). Then 100pts.wt. component A are homogeneously mixed with 3W30pts.wt. amino- formalin resin (B) in a solvent (e.g., toluene).
