Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically grind the inclined suface of the square glass for watch by rotating the workpiece stuck to a sticking plate while rotating the brush on a brush holder in the opposite direction. CONSTITUTION:After a workpiece G to be ground is strongly stuck to a sticking plate 11, a lever 8 is operated to lower a motor M2 to the horizontal position, the brush 6 on the brush holder 5 is made to contact with the workpiece G, and motors M1 and M2 are switched on. The motor M1 allows a shaft 9 to rotate, and so a swivel saucer 10 is rotated in one direction. Consequently, planet gears 14 provided on hollow vertical shafts 13 of the swivel saucer 10 are moved round a sun gear 15 to rotate the workpiece G. Moreover, the motor M2 allows a rotating shaft 4 to drive the brush holder 5 to rotate in the opposite direction with the swivel saucer 10 in order to grind the surface of the workpiece G by using the brush 6. Additionally, a crank 1 driven by the motor M1 causes a contrarotating shaft 2 to operate so that the brush holder 5 is cyclically moved to uniformly grind the workpiece G.
