CONSTITUTION:The electrode guide device 8 consists of an electrode guide plate 9 which holes and guides the electrode 1 with its tip part apart by a fixed distance from the surface of an article 2 to be machined, slidable shafts 10 which support and fix the electrode guide plate 9 and guide the plate 9 to move in the direction of feeding for machining, a position-adjusting plate 11 provided in the upper part of the slidable shafts 10, and guide members 12. These are mounted on a fitting board 6 used for fitting the device to a discharge head 5, unitedly with an electrode holding device 4. In addition, the electrode guide device 8 is equipped with an adjusting screw 13 for adjusting the distance between the fitting board 6 and the position-adjusting plate 11 and with a fixed screw 14 for adjusting the distance between a machining tank 3 and the electrode guide plate 9.
