Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the thermal efficiency of an incinerator, by a method wherein combustion air is fed from a lower part of the subject incinerator at an excretion-processing site, and a part in the proximity of an exhaust port is held in a negative pressure by means of an exhaust gas discharge control, and an auxiliary blast amount is adjusted at a combustion stage where the maximum temperature is shown. CONSTITUTION:Dehydrated sludge, charged through a sludge charging port 12, is transferred, in order, to lower stages, and is dried on a drying belt 4 for the combustion on a burning belt 8. A pressure in the proximity of an exhaust gas exhaust port 17 is detected by means of a pressure detector 26, and an opening angle of a control valve 19 in an exhaust gas line 18 is regulated so that a constant negative pressure is always held. Temperature detectors 29-31 are placed at stages 5-7, resectively, in the burning belt 8, and the output is inputted to a discriminator 32. The discriminator 32 discriminates what step has a maximum temperature, and control valves 35, 37, and 38 are controlled through the working of a regulator 39 to a just hot blast amount, produced by the use of auxiliary fuel, to the combustion stage 7. This supplies a combustion air amount corresponding to physical properties of a combustion substance and to a change in amount, and enables the improvement of an efficiency.
