Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate thickness deviations to be caused during a spinning work, by detecting the deviation of working forces acting on the outer surface of a mandrel, and by controlling the rolling reduction of rolls working at the positions wherein the deviation of the working force is detected.
CONSTITUTION: The press rolls 3 are moved along the outer circumference of a mandrel 2 at a predetermined constant velocity, and a cylindrical body 1 is formed while it is applied an suitable rolling reduction through several divided stages starting at the preforming stage. Hereupon, the load cells 4 detect press forces applied to the cylindrical body 1 at every stage from the start to the final stage of the forming work. That is, the circumference of the mandrel 2 is divided into equal (n) parts at the points 0, 1WiWn-1; the value of working force acting on each of these points at every stage is integrated; hereby, it is learned that a high working force is being applied to a position on a special one of generatrices of the mandrel 2. That is, the integrated value of the working force at each of equally divided points is computed by a computer 5; and the reducing position of respective rolls 3 is controlled by a controller 6 on the basis of said integrated values of the working force; hereby, the thickness deviation is corrected.
