Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a connection in a simple structure between a waveguide and a microstrip circuit, by using a microstrip circuit, a concave housing and a connecting means for waveguide. CONSTITUTION:A part of the waveguide 1 is cut to ensure a clear part of connection. The microwave propagating through the waveguide 1 is connected magnetically to the center conductor 9 of the microstrip circuit 2 through a connection hole 6 of a microwave circuit. In this case, virtually no loss is produced to the microwave that decides the size of hole 6 and the length and width of conductor 9 in order to secure a matching between the waveguide 1 and the circuit 2. Thus the microwave can propagate from the waveguide 1 to the circuit 2 and vice versa. With use of such means, a connection is secured between a waveguide and a microstrip circuit in a simple structure in that a cutting is given to the bottom surface of a concave housing 4 along with a tap hole provided on the bottom surface for connection of waveguide.
