CONSTITUTION:The papers PP1-PP3 are transported on the paper transport path PTH, and the detection signal is delivered when the papers PP1-PP3 pass under the 1st detector SNS1. Thus the counter CNT is counted up. When the papers PP1-PP3 pass under the 2nd detector SNS2, the detection signal is delivered to count down the counter CNT. The number of paper is referred to an N in the normal state and on the path PTH between the detectors SNS1 and SNS2, and thus the initialization is given to N against the decoder DEC. Now the paper stops on the path PTH, and accordingly the value of counter CTN becomes larger than N to deliver the fault signal JAM through the DEC. In such way, the fault can be detected with a high accuracy although the speed of the paper transport path varies.
