Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a member for sliding parts, which has a high PV value and does not so much damage an opposite surface, by filling a fluorine-contg. resin with carbon fiber and lead bronze powder.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorine-contg. resin, which is used as a main component, is filled with carbon fiber and lead bronze powder to prepare a member for sliding parts. Since said member contains the carbon fiber, it is somewhat hygroscopic and thus gives a lubricating effect. Further, since the carbon fiber has many pores and cilia, the carbon fiber can surely retain other filler in the fluorine-contg. resin. When the member is slid, lead bronze is transferred to an opposite surface to be slid, to protect the opposite surface. The carbon fiber and the fluorine-contg. resin exhibits good sliding action on the sliding surface onto which lead bronze is transferred. A fine uneven surface formed by the carbon fiber and the lead bronze powder, enhances the pressure of the lubricating film of a fluid. Lead in lead bronze functions as a lubricant.
