Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the control characteristics under high load in an engine which feed-back controls the secondary air to the engine suction system by providing a negative pressure control valve on the air passage which increases its opening area under the high load.
CONSTITUTION: Air passage 9 and 12 are provided by-passing a throttle valve 5a and connecting the suction passages 5 and 2 at its upstream and downstream respectively. A solenoid valve 7 which turns on and off by a computer 6 receiving a signal from an oxygen sensor 4 on an exhaust passage 3 is provided on said air passage 9 to feed-back control the amount of the secondary air. A negative pressure control valve 8 is provided between the passage 9 and passage 12 and a negative pressure is introced thereto via a negative pressure port 5a at the upstream of the throttle valve 5a, whereby the valve seat 8d is opened up when the opening of the valve 5a exceeds certain limit to increase the amount of air flowing through the passage 12.
