Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the starting property of the engine and improve the durability of a motor by providing a pressure switch detecting discharge pressure in a fuel injection pump of the engine and thereby adjusting the rotational number of the pump in accordance with the discharge pressure.
CONSTITUTION: In the fuel pump 12 having a fuel intake port 3 and a discharge port 4, the main body 1 of the pump, the motor part 2, etc. are provided. On the side wall of the pump in the downstream of the motor part 2, the pressure switch 6 which is turned on when the pressure of the fuel discharged from the motor part 2 is small is provided. This switch 6 is connected to a power source 23 in parallel with a resistor 7, forming a circuit driving the motor. Therefore, when the discharge pressure is lower than a prescribed level, the resistor 7 is short-circuited thereby and thus the revolution of the motor 2 is quickened.
