Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the speed controllability and durability of the titled motor by using an eddy-current joint as an electromagnetic clutch and a compound electromagnetic joint as an electromagnetic brake.
CONSTITUTION: The electromagnetic clutch is constituted by an actuator 10, yoke 11, first soft magnet member 14 and the first conductor plate 17. The electromagnetic brake is constituted by a field 24, the second soft magnet member 27, hysteresis magnet plate 29 and the second conductor plate 30. If a magnetic flux ϕ1 generated by energizing the first electromagnetic coil 12 is cut by the conductor plate 17 to generate the eddy current, an electromagnetic repulsion is induced between the first magnetic pole element 13 and the conductor plate 17, and the repulsion is transmitted from the actuator 10 to a load. If the magnetic flux ϕ2 generated by energizing the second electromagnetic coil 25 is cut by the conductor plate 30 to generate the eddy current, an electromagnetic repulsion is induced between the second magnetic pole element 26 and the conductor plate 30. The torque of this repulsion, combined with a torque generated from a magnetic flux ϕ3 and a hysteresis magnetic pole-element 29, is transmitted as a braking torque.
