Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformly cool the carved surface of metallic mold, by constituting the cooling water passage in dual pipe construction and by blowing the high pressure water flowing through the passage at the outer wall side onto the expanded part consisting the low pressure carved surface of mold.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water passage B of water cooled mold A is built in a dual pipe construction which is divided into standard pressure cooling water passage 2 on inner wall side and high pressure cooling water passage 3 on outer wall side with central wall 1. At the location corresponding to expanded part which consists the carved surface of mold of above-mentioned central wall 1, an adequate number of thin holes 4 are formed, through which the high pressure cooling water is blown into standard pressure cooling water passage 2 on inner wall side. Therefore, a part of high pressure cooling water flowing through high pressure cooling water passage 3 is blown toward expanded part 5 through thin hole 4, and uniform cooling is achieved by either the direct action of the high pressure cooling water on expanded part 5 or by the effect of the high pressure water in preventing the stagnation of flow of the standard pressure cooling water by changing the flow form of the latter.
