Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable mass production of a grid which provides excellent conductivity at the interface of an active material, by spraying metal tin or a tin compound on a mold used for casting a grid before a grid is cast in the mold, and thereby making the former metal tin or the tin compound to adhere to the surface of the grid. CONSTITUTION:A powder made of either metal tin or a tin compound is sprayed on a mold used for casting an anode grid made of a Pb-Sb-As alloy or the like by use of pressed air, thereby the tin powder being affixed to the mold. Thus treated mold is used for casting an anode grid, thereby either the former metal tin or the tin compound being made to adhere to the surface of the grid. Instead of spraying the mold with either metal tin or a tin compound, metal tin or a tin compound may be added to a lubricant used for the mold before a grid is cast.
