Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the adsorptivity of inorg. ions in various kinds of waste water by depositing hydroxide of Al or Fe contg. SO4 ions on a porous silicic acid material.
CONSTITUTION: A porous silicic acid material such as zeolite is suspended in an aqueous soln. contg. Al or Fe ions, SO4 ions. Thence, hydroxide of Al or Fe contg. SO4 ions is deposited on the porous silicic acid material by such a method of adding a neutralizer to this to control the same to suitable pH concn. or the like. The deposited precipitate composition is kept in the range of about SO4/R2O3 (molar ratio)=1.0W0.2. Since this adsorptive material adsorbs phosphoric acid ions, fluorine ions, etc. simultaneously and increases the adsorbing ability of NH3 ions, it is adaptable for waste water treatment for municipal sewage, night soil waste water, industrial waste water, etc.
