Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect the thermal energy of steam produced intermittently, such as steam produced when red-hot coke or red-hot casting is cooled by injection of water, and to reutilize the energy as continuous power.
CONSTITUTION: The red-hot coke is charged and sealed up in a fire-extinguishing container 1 and is extinguished under pressure by hot water sprayed in the container 1. On the occasion, high-temperature heated steam containing a large quantity of water gas is produced. This steam, after dust therein is removed by a cyclone 2, is sent to the 1st heat exchanger 4 and the thermal energy of high temperature is accumulated in an accumulator 5. The thermal energy of the steam whose temperature turns low after the steam being subjected to thermal collection at the 1st heat exchanger 4 is further collected at the 2nd heat exchanger 8 as an energy of an organic-medium Rankine cycle system R. The thermal energy accumulated in the accumulator 5 is utilized supplementarily as the thermal energy of the Rankine cycle system R.
