Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent sintering of particles one another, to reduce the time required for heat treatment, and to increase the efficiency of the heat treatment, by the heat treatment of magnetic metallic powder in the presence of clay powder.
CONSTITUTION: For example, in the heat treatment of magnetic Fe-Co alloy powder made by wet reduction method, said powder is heat-treated in reducing gas in the presence of clay powder such as kaolin etc. The fine clay powder sticks to the surface of the magnetic metal particles so as to coat the particles thereby preventing the direct contact of the particles with one another. Al, Si contained in the clay prevent the chemical sintering. Hence the heat treatment is performed at relatively high temp., so that the heat treatment effect is improved and the heat treatment time is reduced.
