PURPOSE:To enable latent image formation and development (transfer) to be carried out simultaneously, by attaching a charged developer to the surface of a dielectric film with its reverse side charged reversely in polarity to the developer, overlaying plain paper on the front surface of the film, and transferring the developer on the paper by means of a local outer electric field. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic recording electrode styli 6 in a number equal to that of the image elements in a lateral row to be printed are arranged on the superposed part of endless dielectric film 1 and plain paper 4, and on the other side, auxiliary recording electrode styli 7 in the same number are disposed. The reverse side of film 1 is charged with charger 14, and charged developer 3 is attached to the front face of film 1 with developing device 15. On the other hand, the reverse side of plain paper 4 is charged in advance with charger 16.
