Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the removal of SO2 in exhaust gas without the use of other desulfurizing agent, by a method wherein scattering ashes, produced resulting from coal combustion and collected in a dust collector located at a rear stage of a sus- pended coal burning boiler, are returned to or in the proximity of a convection heat transfer area of said boilder.
CONSTITUTION: The coals, for use as fuel, are fed to a combustion chamber 2 through a fuel transportation line 14, and are burned at the combustion chamber 2. Combustion exhaust gas passes through an air preheater 7 and a dust collector 8 in order through a convection heat transfer area, consisting of a secondary heater 3, a reheating device 4, a primary heater 5, and a coal-saving device 6, and the scattering ashes in exhaust gas collected in the dust collector 8 are stowed in a hopper 9. The scattering ashes placed on gas conveyance medium 11 are carried through an ash transportation line 11 to the convection heat transfer area, and are charged into a boiler furnace, having a gas temperature of 800W900°C, through a pouring nozzle 12 set in a furnace wall in the proximity of the outlet of the reheating device 4. This causes the removal of SO2 in exhaust gas through chemical reaction.
