Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a low-viscosity polyol capable of giving a rigid polyurethane foam by the spray method with the suppressed crosslinking reaction, by reacting a phenol, etc. with an aldehyde and an aliphatic amine in the presence of an acid, and adding an alkylene oxide to the reaction product.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A phenol, preferably phenol, is reacted with an aromatic amine, preferably aniline, amino-s-triazine, preferably melamine, (benzo)quanamine, urea, etc. are reacted with (B) an aldehyde and (C) a primary or secondary amine, preferably an alkanolamine, in the presence of (D) an acid, preferably an organic carboxylic acid such as acetic acid, at a temperature of preferably 50W 100°C, and then (E) preferably a 2W4C alkylene oxide is added to the reaction product at a temperature of preferably 90W130°C in the presence of an alkali metallic hydroxide. The preferred molar ratios between the components are as follows: B/A=0.8W3, C/B≈1 and D/A=0.01W1.
